Terms of Service

These terms apply to the LocalDrop.Dev app ("the App") and the website localdrop.dev, both made by SukiDesign. By using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The App is free and open source

The App is free to download and use, with no ads and no account. Its source code is published under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0). That license governs how you may copy, change and share the code; nothing in these terms takes away any right it gives you. Copies you get from an app store are also covered by that store's own terms.

2. Using the App

• Send only files you have the right to share, and do not use the App to break the law or to harm other people or their devices.
• Only send files to devices you trust. The App checks a device's fingerprint, but you decide which devices to accept files from.
• You are responsible for the networks you use the App on and for the devices you install it on.

3. Your data stays yours

Your files, screenshots, recordings and Vault are yours. We do not receive them and claim no rights over them. How the App handles your information is explained in the Privacy Policy.

4. The Vault, passwords and backups

The Vault is encrypted so that only you can open it. That means we cannot recover it for you. If you forget your Vault password and have no recovery code, or forget the passphrase of a backup, the data protected by it cannot be opened by anyone, including us. Keep your recovery code and passphrases somewhere safe, and keep more than one backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.

5. Google Drive and other services

If you connect Google Drive, your use of it is also subject to Google's terms. The App only uses a private folder that belongs to the App in your Drive, and you can disconnect it at any time. We are not responsible for services we do not run.

6. Updates and changes

We may change, add or remove features of the App at any time, and may stop offering it. The App checks for updates and installs one only when you choose to.

7. No warranty

The App is provided "as is", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work hard to make it reliable, but we do not promise that it will always work, be free of errors, or never lose data.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, SukiDesign is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the App or the website, including lost files, lost Vault contents or lost data on any device. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you; the rights you have under your local consumer law are not affected.

9. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be published at https://localdrop.dev/terms/ with a new date at the top. Using the App after that means you accept the new terms.
